She was telling us more about HIV testing.
Why peer to peer? But not professionals to youngsters, teachers to students?
The above photo is the answer.
What we are trying to do is not just simply give presentations around different colleges and universities.
We try to make friends with every participant, and chat with them freely.
Peer to peer education helps to break the barriers that are usually encountered during spreading HIV awareness messages. This barrier hinders the spreading of important HIV awareness message.
This barrier shouldn't exist.
Through peer to peer education, we can create a platform for students to freely express their ideas and opinions. At the same time, it allows us to know more about what they think. So that we can have further discussions with them, to help them develop a positive attitude towards HIV.
The red ribbon symbolizes HIV awareness. The red colour signifies the nature of the virus that attacks the blood stream. Red also denotes danger, as there is still no cure for this deadly virus.
